Snoop Dogg now stands at the pinnacle of the rap world as a bona fide superstar. Snoop Dogg’s early collaborations with Dr. Dre gave listeners their first dose of his tight rhymes and laid back style. Snoop Dogg’s appearance on Dr. Dre’s album The Chronic, sent his star rocketing skyward.

Snoop Dogg had immediate success with his solo debut, Doggystyle is largely due to this intense exposure. Released in 1993, it became the first debut album ever to enter the charts at number one. The singles “What’s My Name” and “Gin and Juice” were both Top Ten Billboard hits.

Snoop’s sophomore effort, Tha Doggfather was released in 1996 and went double-platinum.

Starting in 1997, Snoop Dogg has been making film appearances, as well as producing and directing music videos for himself and other artists.

Snoop Dogg went on to have hits with his next two albums: Da Game Is To Be Sold, Not To Be Told (1998) and No Limit Top Dogg (1999). In 2000, Snoop released Tha Last Meal. In 2001, Snoop Dogg released his autobiography.

In 2003, Snoop Dogg released the album Paid tha Cost to Be da Bo$$, including the hit songs “From Da Chuuuch to Da Palace” and “Beautiful.”

Snoop Dogg had another big hit in 2004 with “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” which went to # 1 on both the hip-hop and pop charts. Later that year, Snoop Dogg appeared as “Huggy Bear” in the Starsky & Hutch movie.

In 2007, Snoop Dogg joined the long list of celebrities with their own reality TV show, when his show Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood premiered.
