Jessica Simpson’s career began with her debut album, Sweet Kisses, released in 1999. The album provided a fortuitous opportunity for her – a tour with the boy-band 98 Degrees, which would end up being the turning point in her career and personal life. Jessica Simpson’s next album, Irresistible, was released in 2003 to great success, with the title track becoming a chart-topping hit. Jessica Simpson made her big-screen debut in 2005 as Daisy Dukes in The Dukes of Hazzard. At the same time, she released a cover of Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Are Made for Walking,” which was well-received critically and commercially. Her next album, A Public Affair, was released in 2006. The album sold over 100,000 copies in its first week and reached number five on the Billboard charts. “Come on Over,” was released in 2008 to heavy airplay and a spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs. It broke the records for highest-debuting first chart entry by a solo artist, debuting at number forty-one. The country album Do You Know followed in 2008, and in 2009, Jessica Simpson began a tour with the Rascal Flatts, kicking off in Missouri and concluding in California.
