The rock band Daughtry was established by Chris Daughtry, shortly after finishing American Idol as a finalist in the fifth season. After the series conclusion, Chris Daughtry signed with RC Records in 2006 began holding auditions to form the lineup for Daughtry. One year later, Daughtry – now complete with members Josh Paul, Jeremy Brady, Joey Barnes, Josh Steely, and Chris – released their self-titled debut and watched it rise to the top of the charts. Daughtry spawned a number of hit singles, including “It’s Not Over,” “Home,” “What I Want,” “Over You,” “Crashed,” “Feels Like Tonight,” and “There and Back Again.” The album reached multi-platinum status and earned Daughtry Grammy nominations for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, Best Rock Album, Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and Best Rock Song.  Daughtry’s debut was followed by the albums Leave This Town (2009) and Break this Spell (2011), both of which debuted in the top ten on the album charts; the former also gave audiences the hit single “No Surprise.” Thus far, Daughtry has sold nearly seven million albums and the band continues to perform and record. They recently returned to the studio to work on new material for their next release, set for 2014.
